What to Discuss with the Teacher

  1. Agree time/dates for each session.
  2. Provide the teacher with an overview of the programme objectives and how you propose to utilise the JA materials in the classroom.
  3. Ask the teacher what the class is like. Are they “lively” or “quiet”. Every individual class is different.
  4. How many students are in the class? If there are more than 30 students contact your designated JA co-ordinator to request additional materials be sent to the school.
  5. Are there students with special educational needs or possible language barriers within the class? Discuss strategies together to make the session inclusive for all.
  6. Has the teacher received the box of materials, Programme Guide Book/Teacher Instructions & Evaluations (where applicable).
  7. The teacher's role in assisting you in the facilitation of the programme is essential. Their support in encouraging participation from the class is vital to the success of your delivery.
